POLICIES & SAFETY

Friendly communities need a few ground rules.

These policies explain how Doxie Social uses information, what members agree to, and how we help keep neighborhood meetups welcoming and safe.

Effective October 5, 2026 · Early-access version

Privacy Policy

Doxie Social collects only the information needed to run neighborhood groups, profiles, and meetups.

Information you provide

How information is used

We use this information to create and secure accounts, display profiles to approved group members, organize walks, show attendees who to look for, support group administration, and respond to questions or safety reports.

Sharing and service providers

Profile and activity information is shared with other members as described in the app. Approved members of a group can see that group’s profiles, walks, RSVPs, and feed. We also use trusted service providers for hosting, authentication, databases, and email delivery. We do not sell personal information.

Location information

Doxie Social does not currently track your live location. Members choose the neighborhood and public meeting-place information they share. Avoid posting a home address or another private location.

Your choices

You can edit much of your profile information in the app. To request account deletion, a copy of your information, or help correcting information, email support@doxiesocial.com. We may retain limited records when reasonably necessary for security, dispute resolution, or legal obligations.

Security and age

We use reasonable safeguards, but no online service can promise absolute security. Doxie Social is currently intended only for people age 18 or older.

Terms of Service

By creating an account or using Doxie Social, you agree to these terms and the Community & Safety Guidelines below.

Your account

Provide accurate information, keep your password secure, and tell us promptly if you believe someone has accessed your account. You must be at least 18 years old to use the service.

Your content

You keep ownership of the photos and other content you post. You give Doxie Social permission to store, process, and display that content as needed to operate the service. Only post content you have the right to share, and respect the privacy of other people at meetups.

Meetups and dogs

Meetups are proposed and attended by community members. Doxie Social does not supervise them and is not a dog-walking, veterinary, boarding, or emergency service. You are responsible for deciding whether a meetup, location, person, and participating dog are appropriate for you and your dog.

You remain responsible for your dog’s supervision, behavior, health, equipment, and compliance with local laws. Participation is voluntary and carries ordinary risks associated with travel, public spaces, people, animals, weather, and physical activity.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service, impersonate others, collect member information without permission, interfere with the app, post unlawful or harmful content, or use Doxie Social to threaten, harass, defraud, or exploit anyone.

Early access and account actions

Doxie Social is an early-access service and may change, experience interruptions, or discontinue features. We may remove content, restrict participation, or suspend accounts to protect members, enforce these policies, or comply with law.

Meetup Disclaimer & Risk Acknowledgment

Doxie Social provides a platform for members to discover groups and arrange activities. Group administrators and meetup organizers act independently; their role does not make them employees or agents of Doxie Social. We do not organize, supervise, inspect, or insure member meetups, and do not verify members, dog temperament, vaccination records, venues, or the accuracy of member posts.

Meeting people and animals and taking part in walks involves risks, including bites, fights, illness, falls, traffic, weather, loss of a pet, property damage, serious injury, or death. You voluntarily choose whether to attend and accept the inherent risks for yourself and the dogs in your care. You must supervise and control your dogs, follow leash, licensing, vaccination and park rules, disclose relevant handling needs, and leave when conditions are unsafe.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you release Doxie Social and its operator from claims arising from interactions with other members and independently organized meetups, including injury or damage to people, animals, or property. This release does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including gross negligence or intentional misconduct where applicable. It does not change any rights or remedies that applicable law makes nonwaivable.

The platform is provided as available, without a guarantee of uninterrupted service, accurate member content, or safe meetup outcomes. To the extent permitted by law, Doxie Social is not responsible for member conduct or independently organized activities. A listing or RSVP is not a safety certification or endorsement.

Changes

We may update these terms as the community grows. Material updates will be posted here with a new effective date. We will request a new affirmative acknowledgment for material changes to these terms or the meetup disclaimer.
